ArabellaStarwood shines at the 2010 World Travel Awards

Hundreds of guests from South Africa and other African and Indian Ocean countries gathered at the Sandton Convention Centre on Wednesday night to see the Oscars of the travel industry being awarded to the cream of the travel trade crop.

Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa scooped the award for Africa's Leading Luxury Hotel, the hotel's second achievement in this category, as well as Africa's Leading Spa Resort and South Africa's Leading Spa Resort. The Westin Grand Cape Town walked away with Africa's Leading Meetings and Conference Hotel, whilst Starwood Hotels & Resorts won the award for Africa's Leading Hotel Group.

The prestigious World Travel Awards event has been running for 17 years and winners are selected through a voting campaign that sees the participation of approximately 167 000 travel agents from around the world.
